James Madison Dukes' women soured to a 146 point lead on the final day at the Colonial Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships, held at George Mason's Jim McKay Natatorium in Fairfax, beating four-time defending champions Towson University, 771 to 625 points.
University of North Carolina-Wilmington claimed its 11th straight CAA men's title with 683 points over second-place George Mason with 626 points. Host team, George Mason has been the runner-up to UNC-Wilmington in seven of the 11 years, including the last three in a row.

Ashley Danner (Lake Braddock/Mason Makos) was named Most Outstanding Swimmers after compiling wins in the women's 100 breaststroke (59.82), 200 breaststroke (2:09.17), and 200 individual medley (1:58.24). She broke her own meet in the IM event. Danner holds the meet and conference records in all three events.
UNC-Wilmington freshman C.J. Fiala (Westfield High School/Machine Aquatics) was second in the men's 100 breaststroke in 55.64. He was also fourth in the 100 freestyle (44.73) and 50 freestyle (20.29)
Fiala led off UNC-Wilmington's record-breaking 400 freestyle and 200 freestyle relays. He joined with Gabe Thran, Joe Gallene, and Michael Williams for a new conference record of 2:57.34 in the 400 freestyle relay, and teamed up with fellow freshman Nick Lowe, Stephen Conrad, Gallene for a time of 1:19.80.
Former West Springfield High School and Sea Devils swimmer Sin Hye Won was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.16) and fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.60) for the winning James Madison women. The Dukes freshman swam the breaststroke legs for JMU's 400 and 200 medley relays. She split an impressive 1:00.61 during the 400 medley, which set a meet record with a time of 3:40.53. She was joined by Caroline Burns, Andrea Criscuolo, and Eva Hannesdottir.
JMU finished second in the 200 medley relay to UNC-Wilmington, 1:40.95 to 1:40.72. Won raced UNC-Wilmington's Carly Tanner (Osbourn Park/Curke-Burke) in the breaststroke leg.
Tanner walked away with the individual title in the women's 50 freestyle with a time of 22.78. She was the runner-up to Danner in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.05) and third in the 100 freestyle (50.37). UNC-Wilmington finished in third place in the team competition.
Helping his team to a second-place finish, Mason junior David Kiss (Thomas Edison High School/Curl-Burke) earned an individual title in the men's 200 butterfly with a time of 1:47.24, using an strong second half to catch and pass UNCW's Brandon Hicks. Kiss also took second in the men's 200 individual medley in 1:48.76. He was third in the 100 butterfly (48.58), just half a second off first place.
William & Mary senior Hailey Hewitt (Robinson Secondary/Curl-Burke) won the women's 200 backstroke in 1:58.22. She was third going into the final lap, but used a blistering 29.80 split to pull ahead for the win. Hewitt was second in the 100 backstroke (55.56) and fifth in the 100 butterfly (55.21).
Teammate Caylyn Tate (Potomac Falls High School/FISH) and Molly Emery (Lake Braddock/Curl-Burke) also collected medals for the Tribe. Tate was in third at the halfway point in the 1,650, but surged in the second half to move into second where she would finish in 16:38.27. She finished sixth in the 500 freestyle (4:54.78) and 12th in the 200 freestyle (1:52.58).
Senior Emery finished third in the women's 200 freestyle in 1:48.67. After qualifying first in the 500 freestyle with an impressive 4:48.86, Emery fell to eighth in finals with a time of 4:58.08. She was also eighth in the 100 freestyle with a 51.64.
For the William & Mary men's team, senior Stephen Fay (Chantilly High School/Herndon Aquatic) was third in the men's 200 freestyle in 1:38.45. First through fifth place were separated by less than one second. Fay was sixth in the 500 freestyle (4:31.48) and eighth in 100 freestyle (45.34).
Hunter Perrot (St. Stephen's St. Agnes/Arlington Aquatic) finished seventh in the men's 200 freestyle for the Tribe in 1:39.11. The William & Mary junior finished 13th in the 100 freestyle (45.94) and 500 freestyle (4:35.93).
Fay and Perrot joined with Kemp Pettyjohn and Luke Robbins to win the men's 800 freestyle relay in a winning time of 6:36.23. Fay held off GMU's Kiss, splitting 1:38.23 and 1:38.10, respectively.
Daniel Camozzo (Herndon High School/Machine Aquatic) finished fourth in the men's 500 freestyle for the Old Dominion Monarchs. He was also fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:38.95) and 10th in the 200 butterfly (1:52.63).
Towson seniors Jeanna Ball (Magruder High School) and Caroline Baker (Tuscarora High School) placed well for the Tigers on both boards. Ball was third in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 290.85, while Baker was ninth with 288.20 points. They switched places in the 1-meter. Baker taking third with 288.90 points, while Ball was ninth with 251.45 points.
Megan Howard (Langley High School/Machine Aquatic) was fifth in the women's 50 freestyle (23.35) and 100 freestyle (51.16) for William & Mary. The Tribe freshman was 11th in the 100 butterfly (56.10)
Mason freshman Steven Blakely (Osbourn Park High School/Curl-Burke) was fifth in both the men's 200 backstroke (1:48.45) and 200 IM (1:50.22). Teammate Joey Kelly was fifth in the 100 freestyle (44.92). The Patriots sophomore was sixth in the 200 freestyle in 1:39.07 and eighth in the 50 freestyle in 20.70.
Gabrielle Mizerak (Osbourn Park High School/Curl-Burke) finished eighth in the women's 100 butterfly in 57.73. She was also 14th in the 200 IM (2:05.12) and 15th in the 100 freestyle (52.17).
Towson senior Maggie Macedonia (Bishop O'Connell/Arlington Aquatic) finished 13th in the 200 backstroke (2:03.33), 14th in the 200 IM (2:05.21), and 15th in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.51).
