Princeton takes home fourth-straight Ivy League men's title; Christensen shares high point honors

Senior Jon Christensen (Jefferson HS/Curl-Burke) concluded his Princeton career with two individual and two relay conference records helping the Tigers to a fourth consecutive Ivy League championship.
Princeton sealed the victory on Saturday night after collecting eight individual and four relay wins over the course of the three day meet to beat Harvard, 1523.5 to 1446.
Three of the individual titles belonged to Christensen, who also contributed to three relay wins in his final campaign. Three more were collected by his teammate, sophomore Paul Noelle. They shared Swimmer of the Meet honors with Harvard's Chris Satterthwaite (sophomore).
In all three of his individual events, Christensen battled Harvard freshman Chuck Katis (Langley HS/Curl-Burke). In all three the result was the same; Christensen first, Katis second.
On day one, Christensen won the 200-yard individual medley in 1 minute 45.71 seconds to Katis's 1:46.34. He also swam the breaststroke leg in the 400 medley relay, along with Kaspar Raigla, Michael Strand, Colin Cordes. They set a new conference and pool record in a time of 3:11.38.
He followed up his opening day performance with records in the 100 breaststroke (52.86) and 200 breaststroke (1:55.96), as well as in the 200 medley relay (1:25.89). Katis was second in each individual event with times of 53.17 and 1:56.49.

Katis's teammate, junior diver Michael Stanton (Churchill HS), was third in the 3-meter (356.45) and sixth in the 1m (304.80).
Yale sophomore Danny McDermott (St. Albans/Curl-Burke) finished 9th in the 200 breaststroke (2:02.27), 13th in the 400 IM (3:59.82), and 19th in the 100 breaststroke (57.28).

Stanford continues reign in Pac-12 with 31st consecutive title
The Cardinal men finished with 939.5 points, beating California and Arizona, which were second and third, respectively, with 808 points and 543 points.
Stanford freshman David Nolan earned Swimmer of the Meet honors after claiming three individual and three relay titles, in the course of putting up five automatic NCAA qualifying times.
USC diver Jordan Gear (Landon School) competed in the 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform events. The Trojan freshman placed third in platform with 310.75 points. He was also 11th in the 3m (274.90 points) and 13th in the 1m (256.55 points).
