The preselection entry lists have been released for the 2012 Men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship.

See the lists here.

These psych sheets don't show who is qualified and is not (those lists should come out either late today or tomorrow, after teams have the opportunity to review their entries), rather it shows which entries coaches have chosen for their three athletes.

There's not quite as many interesting entries here are there are in the women's meet, but there in a few cases, conference championship schedules were confirmed. Vlad Morozov is entered in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyles, swapping last year's 100 back for the 200 free (though I still think that he should drop the 200 and swim 5 relays). Cal's Tom Shields is sticking with his schedule from last year, including an attempt at a 100 fly-100 back double on the 2nd day of competition.

Michigan's Dan Madwed is also repeating his last year's schedule with the 200 IM, 100 fly, and 200 fly. Many have lamented that should he take a crack at a double on the 2nd-day of competition with the 200 free that he could score big points. That's as compared to not scoring in the 200 IM last year.

Texas' Clay Youngquist is entered in the 200 free, the 500 free, and the 200 IM. That's a bit of a curve-ball, given that he would have been seeded 12th in the 100 free at 42.99, but is ranked post-50′s in the 200 fly. Not sure what the rationale is for that decision, as the 200 fly also backs up against the 400 free relay that Youngquist is expected to be a part of, but it opens up a big spot in that 100. Expect him to scratch that 3rd-day event.

As we've done with the women's meet, a lot more analysis (and over-analysis) will come out after the cut psych sheets are released.
