With 37 straight national title's for the men and 33 total for the women, Indian River State College is looking like they are going to continue their winning ways at the 2012 NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (March 7 – March 11).
As the first day of competition started, the Indian River Pioneers took the first event in record fashion in the 400 medley relay. Teaming up were Kristina Morgan, Tryshia Centeno, Solyvette Lizardi and Maria Munoz as they swam a 3:42.95 which shattered a 2009 record set by Indian River (Monika Mialla. Mary Frank, Yesica Rojas and Jennifer Marquez).
Following the 400 medley, the girls finished in a close second behind Daytona State College for the 800 freestyle relay. The second place finish gives them a 10 point lead in front of Darton College going into the second day of competition.
The Indian River men swept both relays and finished the day 16 points ahead of Daytona State College.
