Jack Conger — the 17-year-old star from Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club — continued to impress on Friday night at the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific championship meet, adding a bronze in the men's 100-meter freestyle to the gold medal earned the night before in the 100 backstroke.
Conger's time of 49.84 seconds was a 1.55 second improvement on his previous best time achieved in July at the PVS long course senior championships.

With this performance, the rising Good Counsel senior most likely secured himself a spot on a second relay this week in Honolulu giving himself a shot at six total medals — Conger was already slated to lead off the 400 medley in the backstroke leg.
Andrew Seliskar won the consolation final of the men's 400 individual medley with a time of 4:21.16, shaving .55 seconds off his morning swim. During prelims, the 15-year-old CUBU swimmer dropped 4.69 second drop off his junior nationals' winning time achieved earlier this month.
Sarah Haase (RMSC) finished fifth in the women's 100 breaststroke.
After two days of competition, team USA is in the lead with 208.5 points. Australia and Japan sit in second and third place with 146.5 and 146 points respectively.
